How will construction affect traffic on I-64 and I-264? 

To minimize inconvenience to motorists, all lane closures along I-64 and I-264 associated with this project will occur during scheduled, off-peak hours. Detours and major closures will be announced in traffic alerts to subscribers, press releases and on this website.

How will construction affect traffic on local roads within the project corridor?

Construction for Phase I will require lane closures or detours on Curlew Drive, Kempsville Road and Pleasant Point Drive at various points during the project. Phase II will require lane closures or detours on Newtown and Greenwich roads and Cleveland Street.

How long will construction last?

Construction on Phase I began in November 2016 and has a scheduled completion date of October 2019. Construction of Phase II began in March 2018 and is scheduled to be completed in fall 2022.
